Mighty No. 9 delayed into 2016

We covered Mighty No. 9 back at the end of April, expecting to see a full release midway through this September, after a long and hazardous two years of development following the successful Kickstarter campaign back in 2013. There have already been some delays, from April to September, but it looks like official word has come through that the game has been held back again until sometime early next year to allow for some fine tuning of the online elements.

As we have communicated in the updates to our backers, all of the core content for the game is developed and in a complete state. However, there are still bugs and issues pertaining to the online features that are included in the game. These bugs and issues have a direct affect on enjoyment of the game, so a decision was made to work these issues out before release.

It’s a bit frustrating that a single player focused game like this should have delays due to ‘online features’, but delaying a game to clear out some of the issues rather than releasing half-baked code is always preferable, however twitchy fans might be to get their hands on it. And really, a few more months isn’t that long to wait, is it?

Mighty No. 9 is now expected sometime in Q1 2016, both retail ($29.99/€29.99/£24.99) and digital ($19.99/€19.99/£14.99).
